I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet, because I still feel more excitement than dread. Also, I feel emboldened by the fact that I have this handy-dandy resource called Book in a Month.
Author Victoria Lynn Schmidt seems to break down the scary novel-writing process into easily digestible chunks, and every day has a task assigned to it.
As someone who has worked from home for the past 10 years, I’m admittedly not to be the most structured person in how I allocate my time. Some days I get up early and work through the daylight hours (like a normal human being), and some days I don’t really hit my groove until after dinner, and work late into the night. I’m definitely more of a Type B personality, and rigid, repetitious schedules turn me off.
But, I have to say, something about having this book with its clear list of instructions appeals to me greatly, so I will be using it as my roadmap to complete my novel.
And, again, if you’re also joining in the insanity that is NaNoWriMo, be my buddy!
